Colombia needs our help
The August 10, a major earthquake struck Colombia, leaving people dead, injured, and families who are now facing losses and situations of extreme vulnerability. span>
For some people, the emergency meant losing their homes or their means of subsistence. For others, it meant losing their mobility, their assistive devices, and the ability to access the care they need.
This emergency requires an immediate response.
That is why the CIREC Foundation is launching the Colombia Humanitarian Fund, an initiative to mobilize resources and provide support to people with disabilities, focusing on housing reconstruction, medical supplies, mobility devices, basic necessities, and comprehensive physical rehabilitation.
When a tragedy strikes, aid cannot be limited to a single area. People with disabilities and their families may face additional needs that require a comprehensive response.
We will help affected families meet their basic needs with food, essential supplies, priority transportation, and medical and care supplies, facilitating their access to services during their recovery.
We will support the restoration and adaptation of homes affected by the emergency, helping to improve safety and livability for people with disabilities and their families.
We will provide access to assistive devices such as wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, prosthetics, and orthotics, as well as other technical aids and care supplies, based on each person’s needs.
We will support rehabilitation processes aimed at restoring physical abilities, autonomy, and independence through care provided by a multidisciplinary medical team with experience in comprehensive rehabilitation.
Your donation can help a family get food and essential supplies.
You can help restore a home affected by the emergency.
It can be used as a prosthesis, orthosis, crutches, wheelchair, or other mobility aid.
If the emergency changed your life or that of your family, we want to hear your story.
Ifyou or someone in your family has a disability and was affected by the earthquake and needs support for food, transportation, housing, rehabilitation, comprehensive physical rehabilitation, and mobility aids such as prosthetics, orthotics, wheelchairs, or other items, please provide us with your information.
The CIREC Foundation has 50 years of experience in highly complex comprehensive habilitation and rehabilitation in Colombia.
That is why we are once again putting our capabilities at the service of communities affected by major emergencies, just as we did during the Armero tragedy, the earthquake in the coffee-growing region, and, more recently, the Humanitarian Fund 77 – Faith Without Borders to respond to the emergency caused by the earthquakes in Venezuela, mobilizing resources and capabilities to support people who needed regain mobility and independence.
Colombia needs us today, and CIREC is ready to respond.
We want you to know how each donation is turned into aid.
We will periodically share information about the funds raised, the people who have benefited, the aid provided, and the main results of the Colombia Humanitarian Fund.
Cada donación puede convertirse en una prótesis, una órtesis, una silla de ruedas o una atención especializada para que todos los venezolanos que hoy necesitan volver a levantarse encuentren la ayuda que requieren.
We want you to donate with complete confidence. Here you’ll find answers to the most common questions about the campaign, how funds are used, and the impact of donations.
The Fund may support needs related to housing assistance, food, essential supplies, transportation, medical and care supplies, comprehensive physical rehabilitation, prosthetics, orthotics, wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, mats pressure-relief pads and other mobility aids, in accordance with the identified needs and available resources.
Each situation will be assessed based on the identified needs, vulnerability conditions, prioritization criteria, and available resources.
The CIREC Foundation receives, manages, and disburses the funds allocated to the Colombia Humanitarian Fund.
We will periodically publish information on the funds raised, the aid provided, the people who have benefited, and the results achieved.
